South African Climate Justice activist Patrick Bond will be leading a discussion of Climate Justice (CJ) strategy for the upcoming United Nations Conference of Parties Summit (COP17) in Durban, South Africa regarding the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and the Kyoto Protocol.
Patrick Bond is a political economist with longstanding research interests and NGO work in urban communities and with global justice movements in several countries. He teaches political economy and eco-social policy at the School for Development Studies at South Africa’s University of Kwazulu-Natal, where he also directs the Centre for Civil Society and is involved in research on economic justice, geopolitics, climate, energy and water.
